Hello;

Welcome to my Senior Exhibition

I’d like to introduce myself name, Kaori Vazquez and a senior student at the Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. I expect to receive a bachelor’s degree in May 2021 and study in Arts and Media Design.

I was born in Okinawa, Japan. But my family background is from Puerto Rican. I have more bilingual languages in Spanish, English, and American Sign Language. I raised up in Alexandria, Virginia, USA.

Being an artist is like projecting your thoughts and visions onto a canvas where everyone can see. It's one of the purest forms of being an extrovert. My imagination has always been an incredible driving force in my life, and has done and still does have influence on almost everything I do. It has always been the most natural and easiest way for me to express myself. I have had experience acquiring and manipulating images in various formats using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I can also draw by hand using pencil, charcoal, chalk, crayon and             oil paints.

It wasn’t until recently however, that I have thought about pursuing art as a career; it’s been a dream my whole life, a dream that I never thought could really come true. For me, to be able to have a career in art is like winning the Lottery. But with support from people around me admiring my sketches, sculpting’s and random musings and a fresh and yet more mature perspective on life, I believe it’s about time I took a “leap of faith”. Looking forward, I am excited and have an incredible drive to see where the future may take me!
